Element 7 Seeks Expansion in New Jersey
Element 7 recently submitted a proposal to the State of New Jersey and the City of Trenton to establish a 2,500 sq. ft Cannabis Interactive Learning Center and Wellness Center where medical patients and members of the community can attend events, seminars, and be educated on the medical benefits of cannabis.
The City of Trenton Trenton is a battleground in the national opioid addiction epidemic and faces challenges with drug trafficking. In 2018, opioid and heroin overdoses claimed the lives of over 700 people in New Jersey by the month of August. In Trenton and Mercer County, there were 49 fatal overdoses in just the
first four months of the year. According to the New Jersey state government, there were 2,750 fatal opioid overdoses in New Jersey in 2017, about half of which involved fentanyl, an opioid which is even more potent than heroin. The opioid epidemic in
New Jersey is so serious that 44% of Trenton residents who sought treatment for addiction in 2017 sought treatment for opioid and heroin addiction, while 26% sought treatment for alcohol abuse.
Element 7 continues to lobby for education and change and we are excited about expanding our footprint to New Jersey in 2020.
